Therapeutic or Functional taping is a form of physical therapy that complements your adjustment and aids in the injury recovery process. Its main function is to provide support to muscles and joints while allowing normal biomechanics and movement to occur. There are different Therapeutic Taping techniques depending on what is the nature of the injury and the desired treatment goal, for which proper diagnosis is important to determine the most effective taping technique for you.
WHAT THERAPEUTIC / KINESIO TAPING METHOD IS BEST FOR ME?
As mentioned before, there are different Therapeutic Taping techniques depending on what the nature of the injury is and the desired treatment goal. At Chiropracticly Healthy, the doctor primarily uses Kinesiotaping and Rock Taping techniques. Each therapeutic technique has a specific function and protocol to help your condition, for which it is extremely important that your chiropractor performs an in-depth consultation and evaluation to better determine the best technique for you.
The simple answer to this question is: it depends. Not every patient is the same, for which we strive to be thorough to determine in what way we can help your particular condition. There are many factors we take into consideration to determine what your treatment plan should be. Through your consultation and examination, we establish your diagnosis. Based on your diagnosis, we will determine how often will your adjustments need to be as we go through your phases of care, until Destination Wellness. We appreciate the trust you have in us and look forward to helping you achieve your maximum potential for health.
The chiropractic adjustment, also known as spinal manipulation, is a procedure in which your chiropractor provides a quick thrust to a specific joint to restore its mobility. By removing spinal restrictions, the body can heal naturally and optimally.
Chiropractic care is for EVERYONE. It’s an effective treatment option for children and adults alike. The most common age range for patients to seek chiropractic care is between 45 and 64 years old, however, recently there has been a population shift. People have been proactively seeking holistic and alternative care as well as getting involved in a healthier lifestyle early on, for which the age range has become even wider, including the younger generation. Your chiropractor will perform a full evaluation to determine the best approach for your care and will cater your treatment to your specific condition and needs.
At Chiropracticly Healthy, we strive to make your experience unique and memorable, tailored to your particular condition. To get you started, we will collect some personal information. We will need you to bring a few documents:
After collecting your demographic information, you will be required to complete documentation that will give us a better understanding of your present complaint and past medical history. Once your intake documentation is completed, you will watch a short video that will give you a better understanding of what chiropractic care is and what we can do to help.
The doctor will then proceed to complete your consultation, and then your full examination. Your examination will include observation, palpation, range of motion evaluation, orthopedic testing as needed, as well as muscle and dermatomal testing. This comprehensive evaluation, as well as in-depth postural analysis, will give us the tools to design your customized treatment plan.
The doctor will go over your consultation and examination findings with you, to discuss the plan through journey Destination Wellness, the day after your initial visit. Then, the doctor will proceed with your first adjustment and treatment. During your first treatment, the doctor might use different techniques to achieve the adjustment’s main goal – give motion back to your joints, to allow your body to heal better; at which point you might hear a “popping” sound. You’ve likely seen videos of adjustments with an abundance of loud pops and cracks. During your adjustment, small spaces open up in your joints, encouraging the release of pressure, thus allowing enough space for Nitrogen Oxide gas to escape. This satisfying noise is called Joint Cavitation.
Actually no, the effectiveness of your adjustment relies on the skills of your chiropractor, and the absence of the sound doesn’t mean something went wrong. We cannot wait to help you through your journey to Wellness and a better quality of life!
